Lake Erie Love…

The beach is calling, this girl needs a little R&R with a side of waves. My preference would be a spot next to the Atlantic, but everything seems to be booked so I am thinking a kick ass lake front spot would do the trick.  Growing up I used to love spending time on Lake Erie at Presque Isle, but I am not having much luck finding a tent friendly spot that I can reserve for a week.

Google never fails me…

and steered me toward a spot in New York.  Lake Erie State Park in Brocton, NY has a waterfront campground with a beach and hiking trails.  SOLD!

Camping trip booked!

I booked two sites this trip so that we don’t have to worry about the dogs disturbing anyone.  Since we have 2 sites, we invited some friends/family to join us.  My aunt is coming to spend a couple of days with us and some friends are coming for a night too.

This trip is going to be very relaxed and low key and I am here for it.  I am looking forward to just relaxing.  The campground is pretty basic, but the sound of the lake in the background is AMAZING!.

The sites here are pretty open and don’t offer a lot of shade, but having the lake just steps away makes up for the lack of shade.  Needless to say this trips dress code is going to be a whole lot of swimwear.

Per usual, Evy is making friends left and right.  This kid is such a social butterfly.

We brought a projector with us on this trip and had a movie night by the campfire.  We are watching The Litter Rascals courtesy of Disney+.  If you can believe it I had never seen it and it is such a great, fun family move.  What a fun way to spend an evening at camp.

Fun Fact...

I grew up just a few miles from Lake Erie, but rarely spent time there. I couldn't wait to get away from this place and now I come back as often as I can.

Did you know that Lake Erie actually produces snow. It is called lake effect snow and it occurs when the air blows over the warm water of the lake. Let's just say I am no stranger to this natural phenomenon.
